Don't know if you've had a chance to check out the Stones Throw documentary 'Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton' yet but anyone interested in independent beat making and the spirit of self-organisation would be wise to check it out. Brief highlights include Dam_Funk rapping about his new afro, Jon Wayne making a beat using his skateboard and a full expose on the enigmatic Folerio. Totally amazing doc about a genuinely inspired label.

As you can imagine Stones Throw head honcho Peanut Butter Wolf could call on no other artist to soundtrack the film and that man is the mighty Madlib. Of course, he was more than happy to oblige. He's got more beats than I've eaten hot pockets as this collection of ten untitled instrumentals will casually testify. The usual high standard of quality and variation is present and correct effortlessly working without the need for the visual companion piece. It almost seems like a waste of good beats for only snippets of them to be heard in the context of a film so, if you dig Madlib (and there's no reason not to) you'll wanna snap this up before it disappears. Class sleeve too.
