Girls with guitars, a very dangerous compilation, and one that's served up nicely by this sweet little vinyl set! The package brings together obscure girl rock tracks from the 60s – most of them in a rough garagey mode that stands as a very nice counterpoint to the sweeter girl group sound that's usually associated with the period. The tracks on the set are from a variety of labels, and include loads of work by groups we'd never heard of before, but who really sound great – most likely languished in obscurity due to the fact that their sound was years ahead of its time.

Featured artists include groovy guitar-toting all-girl bands Goldie & the Gingerbreads from New York, the Girls from Los Angeles, the Debutantes from Detroit, the Liverbirds from Merseyside and the Ace Of Cups from San Francisco, all of whom give their male counterparts a good run for their money.
